Introduction
A reducer is a mechanism consisting of gear or worm gears, made in the form of a separate unit and serving to transfer power from the engine to the working machine.
The purpose of the reduction gear is to reduce the angular speed and increase the torque of the driven shaft compared to the driving shaft.
It is necessary to design a reduction gear for a screw conveyor, as well as to select couplings, a motor, and design a frame. The reduction gear consists of cast iron housing, in which gear elements gear wheels, bearings, shaft, etc. are placed. Input shaft is connected with motor by means of coupling, output shaft is connected with conveyor.
