Introduction
Grate coolers are used in cement production to reduce the temperature of the material (clinker) that arrives after burning from the rotary kiln.
The cooling of the clinker occurs due to air being blown through it while the clinker is moved along the cooler by a pushing conveyor. The kinematic diagram is shown in Fig. 6. The motion of the moving grates 5, pushing the clinker relative to the stationary grates 6, is transmitted from the motor 7 through a gearbox and lever mechanism O1ABCД.
Cooled clinker from the grate grid 6 moves to the inclined grid 9, through which fine fractions are discharged into the unloading device 10. To clean the surface of the inclined grid, it is periodically shaken by a pusher 11 of the cam mechanism, the cam 12 of which is connected to the motor 7 via a gearbox 8 and chain transmission 13.
