Description
Calculation of DC motor was performed. Design features of DC motor design are considered. Calculations of the magnetic circuit of the motor were made, sizes, configuration, material, calculation of the stator winding, magnetic circuit at idling and load, active and inductive resistances of the windings were selected, the excitation system built idling characteristics, and operating characteristics. Parameters of windings and time constants are calculated by thermal and ventilation calculations, machine weight and dynamic parameters are calculated.

Introduction
DC motors are used in electric drives that require wide, smooth and economical control of rotation speed, high reloading starting and braking moments, mainly in metalworking machines, paper machines, in the textile, rubber, printing industries, auxiliary mechanisms of the metallurgical industry, etc.
The design of DC motors is more complicated and their cost is higher than asynchronous motors, however, due to these properties, their specific gravity in the overall output of electric machines does not decrease, but, on the contrary, tends to increase. This trend has been especially evident over the past decades due to the development and widespread introduction of an automated drive, as well as the development of thyristor devices that create the possibility of powering DC motors from the AC network. However, the development of static converters entails a corresponding reduction in the output of DC generators.
Conclusion
In this course work, a DC motor was designed. Calculations of the magnetic circuit of the engine were carried out and sizes, material with the least losses were selected.
Winding parameters and time constants were calculated, thermal and ventilation calculations were performed, machine weight and dynamic parameters were calculated.
