Applying the Control Unit

Control unit is used for operation control, for regulation, check and power supply of ventilation equipment. The control unit is designed for the ventilation system of a particular object according to the specification.

Operating conditions, installation location

The control unit is designed for internal use in a dust-free, dry environment without chemical means. Enclosure protection - IP 54 when door is closed and IP 40 when open. Permissible ambient temperature from + 5 to + 40 degrees Celsius. The control unit is designed for vertical installation directly on the wall. Cables can be fed by means of plastic ducts or corrugated channels. During installation it is necessary to provide convenient access of maintenance personnel and cable connections.

Control unit is assembled in plastic housing with transparent front door behind which control elements are located. Control and control functions are provided by central control modules consisting of controllers AQUA24A1F/D and AQUA24A1/D, as well as control logic. Power part consists of protective elements, contactors, relays, switches, terminals. Plastic, copper, aluminum, galvanized steel are used in the internal structure. Parts inside control unit are mounted on DIN racks. Power and control electronics use high-quality components. The materials used are thoroughly checked and ensure long life and reliability of the equipment.

Management

Behind the door of the control unit are all important control and alarm elements, that is, the "INPUT" circuit breaker, control controllers, control buttons, operation and alarm indication elements, circuit breakers of equipment elements.

Start-up and stop of plenum plant

Start and stop buttons are used for start and stop in the upper row of control, signalling and protective elements of control unit. When operating from control unit, set DIST - OFF - MESTN selector switch to MESTN position. The equipment is started by pressing green START button, the equipment operation is indicated by green OPERATION lamp. Press red STOP button to stop the equipment. At that, OPERATION lamp goes OFF.

Start - a stop of exhaust B1 systems - B6 is carried out automatically during the work of incoming installation (at installation of the DIST switch - Otkl - MECTH in the provision of DIST on a box of management of YaU) the corresponding exhaust systems. It is possible to control the output of the extractors B1 - B6 using MTY regulators installed next to the remote control, regardless of the position of DIST - MESTN selector switch on the control board and on the NP control boxes (except for OFF positions).

Working with Remote Control

You can use the remote control to start and stop. To do this, set DIST - OFF - MESTN selector switch to DIST position on control unit. The equipment is started by pressing the green START button on the remote control panel, the equipment operation is indicated by the green OPERATION lamp. Press red STOP button to stop the equipment. At that, OPERATION lamp goes OFF.

ATTENTION!

The control unit provides important protective functions, although the fans do not function. Equipment CANNOT be switched off by turning off the INPUT circuit breaker or any other circuit breaker.

Setting the required temperature

The desired temperature is set by rotating the Setpoint handle in the lower left corner of the AQUA24A1F/D controller (AQUA24A1/D). Adjustment components such as: Pd, Id, CF, Ir, Min, Max are elements of accurate adjustment of the parameters of the supply unit and do not require operational adjustment.

Work in winter

To operate in the cold season, it is necessary to supply hot water to the regulating units of the plenum plant, opening the necessary valves, press the Summer - Winter button on the control unit (Winter lamp lights up). Control signals are supplied to servo drives of mixing units and power supply to circulating pumps of water air heaters.

(WARNING: during winter, disconnection of circulation pumps may lead to freezing of air heaters).

The control signal for heating (0-10V DC) is generated by the control controller respectively for each drive of the mixing unit.

Summer Work

To operate during the summer period, press the Summer - Winter button (the Winter lamp goes off), block the supply of hot water to the regulating units of the plenum plant. It is advisable to drain water from the heaters - opening the drain cranes (in order to avoid freezing the heaters when the outside temperature decreases in spring and autumn).

Filter contamination alarm

Filter contamination is indicated by the red lamp Filter, this signal does not affect the operation of the equipment, and signals the need to clean or replace the filter element.

Accident status

In case of an emergency, the lamp on the Alarm control panel and the LED on the AQUA24A1F/D (A1) ALARM controller come ON and the plenum unit sets to STOP mode. After the cause of the accident has been eliminated, the Alarm signal must be reset to restart the equipment by pressing the ALARM button in the lower right corner of the controller (next to the ALARM LED). After that it is possible to further control the equipment by means of Start - Stop buttons.

Frost protection

The AQUA24A1F/D controller (A1) has calorifer freezing protection using a thermistor (type TGA130) installed on the heater return water header. Freezing protection is active both in Stop mode and in Operation mode. When the inlet temperature in the return water header drops below +10ْ С, the valve of the mixing unit opens, if the temperature drop does not stop, then when the temperature drops to +5ْ С, the ALARM signal turns on and the unit switches to STOP mode, the fan stops and the air damper at the inlet closes. In addition, a capillary thermostat for protection of air temperature downstream the calorifer (installed between the heater and the fan of the plenum plant) is introduced into the protection circuit.

ATTENTION! The described protective functions only under condition of continuous power supply of the equipment. When the power supply is lost or the circuit breakers on the control unit are turned off, the heater is not protected, which in the cold period can lead to freezing and rupture of the air heater tubes.

Installation, prevention, service

Installation

Control unit is designed for internal application in dry, dust-free environment without chemicals.

Permissible ambient temperature from +5ْ С to +40ْ С.

When the control unit door is closed, the protection class is IP54 and IP40 when the door is open.

The control unit can be vertically mounted directly onto the wall or heated up to 50 mm. Cables can be run through troughs, pipes, corrugated tubing or also under plaster.

Installation shall be carried out taking into account good access of maintenance personnel and connection of cables.

Wiring

Electrical installation has the right to produce only a qualified employee for this. The electrical wiring shall be reviewed before the equipment is put into operation.

The control unit is connected to the power circuit by 3x400V + N + PE cable. The parameters of the protective elements are determined by the specific system of fan motors used. It is recommended to check the ability to disconnect the protective elements due to the required shutdown time, short circuit resistance and overload of the power cable.

The control unit is connected to the ventilation system by cables according to the electrical installation project.

Supply cable is supplied directly to INPUT protection circuit breaker, and N and PE to corresponding buses .

Heat sensitive sensors, servo motors and other elements are connected to the terminal block in the upper part of the control unit according to the connection diagram.

Cables can be laid directly under the plaster or via cable lines. From the point of view of electromagnetic compatibility requirements, it is recommended to conduct control and signal cables isolated from power cables. Power supply to the control unit must be provided with overvoltage protection to ensure high operational reliability and equipment viability.

It is necessary to monitor the cleanliness of the room. A component of the control unit is sensitive electromagnetic components, the contamination of which would affect the safe operation of the ventilation equipment.

Commissioning of equipment

Before putting the equipment into operation, installation of heat sensitive elements, thermal contacts of the fan, etc. Check whether the fan is correctly installed (the arrow on the housing indicates the direction of air flow).

It is necessary to check the current connections of all parts of the duct.

Check the voltage of all three phases.

At the fan, check the direction of rotation of the impeller and ensure that it rotates according to the arrow on the engine. The direction of air flow is not a sign of proper rotation. In case of improper rotation, the fan motor may be overloaded, which may cause damage to the equipment.

When the fan is started, the air damper servo actuator opens, when the fan is stopped, it closes.

After starting the equipment, the currents of all three phases must be measured. These currents shall not exceed the maximum value for the appropriate fan type.

Operation, Prevention, Service

Ventilation equipment can only be operated in accordance with operating regulations. Maintenance personnel shall comply with the requirements specified in the operating regulations or with the requirements established by the manufacturer. If the established operating conditions are met, special prevention is not required. It is recommended to perform preventive checks in the following cases:

During switching of ventilation equipment to seasonal operation (summer, winter operation modes).

After being in extreme states or emergency situations.

After inspection of ventilation equipment wiring.

Prevention is limited only to proper cleaning. Dust and dirt must be removed from the electrical cabinet within the specified time frame.

Clean the front panel of the housing with soft wet cloth. Use rinsed or neutral cleaning agents.

Do not use abrasive powder or plastic breakers, as well as acidic and alkaline solutions.

It is necessary to prevent the influence of splashing water, shocks and concussions.

During preventive inspection it is necessary to:

Check tightening of all screw connections, reliability of electrical appliances attachment in the control panel.

Check of reliability of connections of external and internal cable connections.

Check the status of symbols and labels.

Check of equipment for operation.

Cleaning of control unit electric cabinet.

Repair within the warranty and post-warranty period is carried out by both the manufacturer and the contractual organization .

Safety Rules

Emergency-free and safe operation of the control unit ensures proper installation, commissioning and proper control.

Only qualified personnel can put the equipment into operation.

Maintenance of the control unit is allowed to trained persons responsible for operation and warned about possible risks and hazards.

It is prohibited to eliminate or disable precautions and protective equipment.

Interference affecting equipment safety must be eliminated immediately.

It is necessary to strictly observe the safety rules providing protection against electric shock. It is necessary to avoid all manipulations causing, albeit for a short time, restriction of safe and protective measures.

It is not in any way possible to remove the enclosures or other protective elements. Do not operate the equipment or its components if their normal protective equipment does not work, or their operation is limited.

Power supply must be turned off before opening the electrical cabinet. Never work energized. Use protective and working devices according to the operating principles of ventilation equipment.

When replacing fuses in MTY regulators, power must be removed from the control board. Only prescribed fuses shall be used, respectively: for regulators B1 - 4A, B2 - 2,5A, B3B6 - 1A.

It is necessary to monitor the serviceability and functioning of all protective elements. After elimination of faults of short circuit type, always check operation of automatic protective elements, condition of power circuits and grounding.

Possible causes of faults

Only authorized representatives will be required to determine the causes of faults, repair faults and re-commissioning the equipment. The same applies to work inside the electric cabinet (for example: test work, replacement of fuses, etc.). The manufacturer shall not assume responsibility for unauthorized interference with the equipment. The damage caused by unauthorized actions in the system, as well as the resulting damage, becomes the matter of the person who caused them.

Before troubleshooting the control unit, first check the power supply (voltages, fuses, circuit breakers).

Filter

Check the filter status, clean or replace the filter insert.

ALARM signal

Check or turn on the protection circuit breakProtection of pump I (II).

Check the temperature of the supplied water.

Check or clean water filters at mixing units.

Check and replace temperature sensors TGA130 and TGK360 in case of failure.

Check and set the extreme positions of the shaft of three-way valves.

Check the direction of rotation of the servo motors.

Check serviceability of run pumps.
