Introduction

The designed drive of a chain conveyor from an engine, a reduction gear box and two couplings mounted on a single base. Based on the results of the calculations, the engine AIR100L4 TU 16525.564-84 with a power of 4 kW with a speed of 1410 rpm, version IM1081, was selected as an electric motor. In the project, a single-stage worm gear is designed. The engine and the reduction gear (its input/high-speed shaft) are interconnected by an elastic clutch with a rubber sprocket selected according to regulatory documents. Designed compensating coupling of limiting moment is installed on low-speed shaft of reduction gear.

Select Bearing Type and Layout

Worm wheels should be accurately and rigidly fixed in the axial direction, also the supports of worm shafts in power transmissions are loaded with significant axial forces, therefore, roller bearings, fixing and floating supports are used as shaft supports.

As the supports of the slow-moving shaft of the reduction gear box, we choose conical roller bearings, both supports fixing, since the shaft is relatively short, the ratio l/d = 5, then it is advisable to use the installation scheme of bearings "at rest" as structurally the simplest.
