Introduction
Bridge cranes are the main lifting equipment of production shops, closed and open warehouses. Cranes intended for maintenance of metallurgical workshops represent a group of metallurgical cranes.
Operability and safety of cranes operation largely depends on the quality of their metal structures. In this regard, certain requirements are made for crane steel structures: strength, general stability of the structure and local stability of its individual elements; static and dynamic stiffness; endurance and, at the same time, the minimum possible mass, high processability of manufacture and installation, sometimes limited dimensions. Most of these requirements should be provided at the stage of preliminary (design) calculation and layout.
