Introduction

Modern machine-building enterprises are equipped with expensive and diverse equipment, automated systems, robotic complexes. For uninterrupted operation of the equipment with specified accuracy characteristics, systematic maintenance of it and repair works and technical diagnostics activities are required.

The repair farm of the enterprise is a set of departments and production departments engaged in the analysis of the technical condition of technological equipment, supervision of its condition, maintenance, repair and development of measures to replace worn-out equipment with a more progressive one and improve its use. The performance of these works shall be organized with minimum equipment downtime, as soon as possible and in a timely, high-quality and minimum cost manner.

The organizational and production structure of repair services depends on a number of factors - the type and volume of production, its technological characteristics, the development of co-operation during repair work, etc. The repair service of the enterprise is headed by the department of the chief mechanic of the enterprise (OGM). The repair farm of a large machine-building enterprise includes a repair and construction workshop performing repairs of buildings and structures, subordinate to the department or department of capital construction, an electrical repair workshop (or workshop) performing repairs of energy equipment and subordinate to the main power engineering; repair and mechanical workshop, which performs repair of technological and other types of equipment, production of replacement parts and is subordinate to the chief mechanic. The repair base of the main mechanic in addition to the repair and mechanical workshop includes lubricating and emulsion facilities, equipment and spare parts warehouses. In large workshops there are also repair bases or workshops run by the workshop mechanic.
