Belt conveyor drive consists of:

- electric motor, -opened belt transmission, -inch stepped coaxial reduction gear.

Design Input.

Conveyor traction force Ft = 2000 N.

Speed v = 1.0 m/s.

Drum diameter D = 500 mm.

Width B = 400 mm.

10. Choose a lubricant.

Lubrication of gear engagement and rolling bearings is performed by oil poured inside the gearbox housing up to the level ensuring the gear wheel immersion by approximately 10 mm. The volume of the oil bath is determined on the basis of 0.25 dm3 per 1 kW of transmitted power:

V = 0.25· 3 = 0.75 dm3 = 0.75 l.

Set the viscosity of the oil. At contact stresses H = 482.5 MPa and speed v = 1.5 m/s, the recommended kinematic viscosity of the oil should be approximately 34· 106 m2/s.

We choose industrial oil I - 30A, with kinematic viscosity (28... 34)· 106 m2/s according to GOST 2079975.

12. Gearbox assembly.

The gearbox is assembled in the following sequence:

Install the gearbox housing on the bench (using crane beam or manually).

Manually install a pre-assembled high-speed shaft (i.e. bearings are pressed on the shaft) into the reduction gear sockets.

Manually install a pre-assembled intermediate shaft in the reduction gear sockets (i.e. bearings are pressed on the shaft, a cylindrical wheel is fixed by keys). At this stage, it is supposed to organize a cylindrical gear engagement of the high-speed stage.

Manually install a pre-assembled slow-moving shaft in the gearbox sockets (i.e. a gear wheel is fixed on the shaft by means of a key, sleeves are dressed and bearings are pressed). At this stage it is supposed to organize cylindrical gear engagement of slow-moving stage.

Install the gearbox cover using the crane beam.

Mark 2 holes for pins (ruler, caliper).

Drill 2 holes for pins (electric drill).

Stitch (hammer).

Attach the inspection window.

Install four blind bearing covers.

Install two through bearing covers assembled (i.e. cuffs are fitted in the covers).

Install key under pulley (hammer).

Install key under half-coupling (hammer).

Pour over the oil.

Next, check the rotation of the wheels by hand, check the run-out of the output shaft. Bolted connections should also be monitored during tightening. Perform leak check.
