Description
Cheving setup drawing. Cheving - finishing of the side surfaces of gear wheels. The whole process is to remove a small layer of chips with a shever. A chever is a certain wheel or rack, the teeth of which are cut through by transverse grooves to form cutting edges. During rotation of the shever and the treated wheel engaged, the teeth slide laterally along their length, and the edges of the grooves on the shever teeth cut a thin layer of chips from the profiles of the wheel teeth.
