Description

The purpose of the course design is to design steel structures of the working site of the metallurgical workshop. The framework of the working platform consists of elements that make up the beam cage - secondary and main beams that support their columns and connections. During the course design, it is necessary to place secondary beams with one condition - that their support sections do not coincide with the installation joints of the main beams.

Introduction

The purpose of the course design is to design steel structures of the working site of the metallurgical workshop.

The main advantages of steel structures are:

ability to perceive large loads at relative lightness and small size of structures due to high strength of steel; despite the high specific gravity, structures made of steel have a lower weight than those made of other building materials;

gas and water impermeability due to the high density of steel;

durability of structures, determined by high and uniform properties of strength and density of steel;

Industriality in manufacturing and installation, achieved by the manufacture of structures in factory conditions and their mechanized installation at the site of construction;

disassembly and easy replaceability of steel structures, which facilitates the possibility of strengthening or changing parts of the structure.

Steel building structures are usually made of rolling sheets of various nomenclature. Pipes, different profile views, or steel sheets or strips are also used. Each type is available in several sizes, each of which is controlled by a standard.

To connect system elements in construction, use: welding, rivets, bolts. Materials having high weldability parameters are needed for welding structural steel structures. Rivets perform reliable fastening at high dynamic loads. Bolts are available in various sizes and allow you to attach elastic types of steel.

4. Column Calculation and Design

Columns supporting the beam cage consist of a rod, a head and a base. Heads are used for support and attachment of beams located above. The base is necessary to distribute the force transmitted by the column to the foundation and ensure that the column is attached to it and using anchor bolts.
