Introduction

More and more often recently, laminate has been used as flooring during repair work.

Laminate can be laid on the floor in two ways: lock and glue.

During gluing, laminate plates are butt-joined to each other and glued together. During the adhesive installation of the laminate, the glue wraps the laminate panels well on all sides, so in the end a monolithic strong floor is obtained. This type of laminate panel laying has the main advantage - high waterproofing characteristics.

the second method of laying is locking, when the panels are fixed to each other in a glueless way - a locking mechanism. This type of stacking has its merits:

1). If any of the laminate panels are damaged during operation, then it can be quickly replaced with a new one, without changing the entire floor cover;

2). The locking, leftless way of laying the laminate is easier and easier.

A floor made of laminated plates is also called a floating floor because the laminated panels do not adhere to the floor in any way, and only the plates are attached to each other either by glue or by locking.

In order for the laminate coating to last a long time, it is necessary to align the surface of the flooring floor well in order to lay it. The floor is leveled before laying a special construction self-leveling mixture. The mixture should dry well, after which the floor is covered with a moisture-proof film, which creates good waterproofing. And on top is an acoustic special construction substrate. The substrate may be a cork coating or polyethylene. In any case, all kinds of substrate are designed for laminate flooring.

Panels are laid in relation to the wall with a slot. Once the laminate slabs have been laid, they must dry completely after the glue has been applied within two days. Along the entire wall, a distance of about 10 millimeters is left along the perimeter, after which this gap is closed with decorative plinths.

1. Scope of Application

This Job Instruction is designed to cover laminate board floors in cottage houses with dimensions of 27.1x16.3m and 13.8x9m. The application of laminate floors is different. Since they have a beautiful aesthetic appearance, they are laid in the kitchen and in the hallway, in the bedroom and living room. And with a water-resistant laminate, floor coverings are covered in the bathroom and bathroom during the repair of the bathroom. Laminate floors fit well into the interior of any room in the living room, giving each room its own unique and original look.

2. Organization and technology of works execution

Preparation of surface for laminate laying.

Before laying the laminate on the floor, all the garbage is removed, it is better to use a vacuum cleaner. Put the laminated boards in a package in the center of the room you are going to put them in and give them 48 hours to acclimatize. The ideal room temperature is about 22 degrees with an air humidity of 55%. Boards with visible defects shall not be used in any case. Make sure the surface is dry, flat and clean before laying the floor base. All irregularities exceeding 2 mm shall be removed. Always stack the waterproofing layer and substrate before laying the laminate. When laying a laminate with an integrated base, stack only waterproofing.

Laying of laminated floor

You will need: a lobby and a small hand saw, pencil, ruler or meter, waterproof tape and also a set for laying parquet. The laminate can be laid on any hard surface, such as carpet surfaces, and must be previously removed. The laminate is compatible with water heating of the floor provided that the pipes are laid at a depth of at least 3 cm and temperatures less than 28 degrees. Leave a gap of 8 10 mm on all sides using expanders. It is also necessary to leave a gap around objects such as pipes, door joints and thresholds. On large areas, it is necessary to leave a gap every 10 meters in width and length to compensate for expansion and contraction. If the laminate fits in several rooms at the same level, a compensating 8 mm joint must be installed at each boundary between the rooms using a connecting profile. The floor base should be dry, flat and defatted.

In order to determine the height of the door box, place the laminated board face down against the jamb, mark the height and sawn off the mark on the door and jamb. You can start from two sides:

Option 1: start from angle

Place the board in the corner of the ridge against the wall. Turn the short side of the second board into the first one by inserting the ridge into the slot. Put the first row in this way. Remember to leave a gap of 8-10 mm between the first row and the wall.

Option 2: start from the door

Put the first row along the door and gradually move away from it. Put the board that should enter the doorway in size. Leave 810 mm clearance and insert board under door box. The boards ending the first row also fit in size. Measure the length of the extreme board and fit it in size. The remainder of this board will be useful for starting the next row, provided that it is not shorter than 25 cm. Start from the same place where the previous row ended, leaving a gap of 810 cm between the laminate and the wall. Insert the board in the previous row and click on it. Carefully lift the laminate board along with the previous row at a 30 degree angle, then press it against the previous row. Once the boards are properly connected, they can be lowered. Continue in this way until you have laid the entire floor; first short sides until they are fully connected, then two connected boards in the previous row. For the last row, leave a gap of 810 mm as before. Consider this by measuring and sawing off the ends of the last row. Lay down the last row. Remove all gap separators, align the edges of the waterproofing layer and the base with the edges of the floor before moving to the final phase (plinth and profiles). To avoid damage to the plinth, we recommend not gluing adhesive tape on it.

Caring for laminate floors

Laminate floors are made of a rather dense material, so maintaining their cleanliness is not difficult. It is unlikely that you will need polishing, grinding or other similar substances. All that is required is cleaning with a vacuum cleaner, wiping dust and a little wet cleaning from time to time. Most manufacturers give a guarantee for laminate floors for a period of 10-25 years. During this period, the flooring does not wear out, fade, get dirty. It is designed in a way that looks good over the years without requiring much care effort.

Although laminate floors are resistant to wear, do not neglect simple operations that will help you maintain their corresponding look:

· Perform dry cleaning (using a vacuum cleaner or mop) to remove dirt and sand;

· Wash the floor with warm water. At the end of retraction make sure to wipe it dry ;

· Change water more often to keep it clean;

· Do not use polishing agents or waxes;

· Never use hard cleaning powders or coarse wool cloth;

· Wipe the spilled liquids immediately;

· Try to avoid long-term presence of liquids on the floor (for example, bowls of your pet).

Dirt is the main enemy of laminate floors. After some time, walking leads to wilting of the coating, and due to large particles of sand or stones, visible scratches appear. This will help to cope :

· Soft, smooth treads laid under the legs of chairs and tables;

· Mat or special shoe brush before entering the room.

If suddenly the laminate is scratched, buy a putty from the manufacturer. The restored area, as a rule, is not noticeable, plus to this it will be resistant to walking and wear and tear in the same way as the rest of your floor .

In case of more serious damage (the probability of which is very small), you can replace the board by inviting a specialist for this. A properly installed new board should be almost indistinguishable against the background of the rest.
