Summary
In the course work, a steel cylindrical vertical tank was built in the city of Norilsk.
The steel grade was selected, the overall dimensions of the tank were determined, the wall and bottom were built, the loads on the tank were collected, the tank wall was calculated for strength and stability, the tank wall was designed to mate with the bottom, the spherical roof of the tank was calculated using the Lira PC (the cross section of the flat arch, transverse ribs of the shield, external and central support ring was selected).
Introduction
Market working conditions dictate their requirements to engineers, especially tough ones. The knowledge and practical skills of designing diverse structures in the narrow specifics of metal give such specialists widespread demand and the possibility of successful work in the leading construction organizations of the country.
Performing course work in the discipline "Special Structures" summarizes theoretical knowledge and gives experience in calculating sheet structures using the example of a steel cylindrical tank.
The main task is to design and calculate the main elements of the tank (walls; bottoms; beams, flooring and support rings of roof and their conjugation units) and subsequent execution of drawings of CM and CMD stage.
Source Data
A 10000 m3 steel cylindrical tank in Norilsk shall be designed.
The roof structure is spherical.
Climatic conditions of the construction area:
The outside air temperature of the coldest day with a security of 0.98 is -53 ° С [1];
- design snow load - 400 kg/m2 (VI snow area) [2];
- standard wind load - 60 kg/m2 (V wind area) [2];
- seismicity - 5 points [3].
Characteristics of the stored product:
- product density - 0.85 t/m3;
- internal overpressure:
operating - 2 kPa (0.02 kg/cm2);
emergency - 2.3 kPa (0.023 kg/cm2);
- internal vacuum:
operating - 0.25 kPa (0.0025 kg/cm2);
emergency - 0.4 kPa (0.004 kg/cm2);
- temperature - from + 90 С to 40 С.
Calculations were made in accordance with the requirements of the following regulatory documents:
- SNiP 2.01.0785 "Loads and Impacts";
- SNiP II2381 "Steel structures. Design Standards ";
- PB 0360503 "Rules for arrangement of vertical cylindrical tanks for oil and oil products";
- GOST R 529102008 "Vertical cylindrical steel tanks for oil and oil products. OTU. ";
- "Rules of design, production and installation of vertical cylindrical tanks for oil and oil products" HUNDRED CA030022009
Conclusion
The design resulted in documentation: KM stage drawings, CMD and explanatory note.
In the course work, I did not consider special tank assemblies: for example, such as wall and nozzle joint assemblies, hatches, special hatches, tank equipment, etc. Also, the issue of the installation of anchor anchorages when raising the colors of the bottom of the tank is not considered.
But in the course work, the general principles of calculating vertical cylindrical tanks are considered, the main units are built and calculated, which is a positive experience and will be useful for further work as a civil engineer.
