Description
1. Electric motor selection, kinematic and power calculations.
- Determination of the power of the electric motor.
The desired power P (W) of the electric motor (ED) is derived from the expression:

where P is the power of ED (W);
- torque on the driven shaft of the drive;
- angular velocity of the driven shaft of the drive (rad/s);
- traction force on the conveyor belt (N);
- belt speed (m/s);
η is the efficiency of the drive.
The efficiency for sequential kinematic pairs is determined by the formula:

where is the efficiency of the individual elements of the kinetic chain.
According to Table. 1.1 [1] determine the efficiency of the drive.
