Description

The course project is devoted to the design of a navigable lock as part of an integrated hydroelectric complex, which also includes a ground dam, a concrete spillway dam, and a hydroelectric power plant. The basis of the structures are non-rocky soils.

Such hydraulic systems are among the most common structures on lowland rivers in many countries. The ability to design the structures of such hydraulic systems, in particular, navigable locks, is an integral part of the work of a hydraulic engineer. In the process of working on the course project, skills in the calculation justification and design of hydraulic structures are acquired, which will allow in the future to successfully participate in project activities and hydraulic engineering. An important part of the design is the use of regulatory literature to justify the size of structures.
