Course work on relay protection of power supply system.

Introduction

During operation of the power supply system, various abnormal modes of its operation arise, these include short circuits, overloading, voltage reduction, frequency drop and others.

In order to protect the equipment and provide consumers with uninterrupted power supply, damage and abnormal operation modes of the power system should be quickly eliminated and localized, which is provided by automatic relay protection devices.

Relay protection devices are subject to the following requirements: selectivity, speed, sensitivity and reliability, which will be considered in the course design.
