1 Purpose and brief description of the drive

Cylindrical reduction gear is used to transfer motion between parallel axes. Their design is very diverse. Their main merit is that they have a high efficiency. This figure is 98%, since there is practically no loss on rotation. Cylindrical reducers have a rather low operating temperature, which allows the transfer of energy directly from the source to the storage.

Thanks to their positive performance, cylindrical gearboxes have found their use in: mechanical engineering, automotive. Gearboxes are used in drives of equipment using shafts. Stirrers, extruders, grinders, metal machines and other equipment.

In the course design, a test plant drive is designed, which includes a single-stage cylindrical reduction gear, which serves to increase the torque of the drive while reducing the speed from the input shaft to the output shaft. Input shaft of reduction gear is connected to electric motor. The electric motor provides the drive necessary for the reduction gear to achieve a given gear ratio with a rotation frequency.
