Description

Horizontal steel tank with volume of 40 (m3) is intended for storage of oil and oil products.

This tank structure consists of: housing, two conical bottoms, saddle supports, product inlet hatch, inspection hatch and drain pipe.

The diameter of the tank is 2.74 (m).

The length of the hull is 6.76 (m).

The actual volume of the tank is 40 (m3).

The tank is made of hot rolled sheet according to GOST requirements 19903-2015

Introduction

The topic of the course design is: "Calculation and design of a steel horizontal tank with a volume of 40 (m3) for liquid storage with a density of not more than 1.1 (t/m3), operating at an excess pressure of 42 (kPa). The brand became VSt3sp. "

The purpose of the course design is to develop and design the construction of a 40 (m3) horizontal steel tank for further operation at the specified working loads and at the specified overpressure.

During the course design, the required thickness of the tank body will be calculated, the bottom will be selected, the stiffness ring will be calculated and constructed. All structural parts will be tested for strength by calculations.

Also in the course project, the welding method will be selected for welding joints of structural parts, welding materials and the necessary parameters of the welding mode will be selected, welding equipment will be selected for welding operations.

The main tasks of the course project are: calculation and design of the oil storage tank design, selection and justification of equipment, welding materials for the process execution, execution of the assembly drawing.

Horizontal steel tank with volume of 40 (m3) is intended for storage of oil and oil products.

This tank structure consists of: housing, two conical bottoms, saddle supports, product inlet hatch, inspection hatch and drain pipe.

The diameter of the tank is 2.74 (m).

The length of the hull is 6.76 (m).

The actual volume of the tank is 40 (m3).

The tank is made of hot rolled sheet according to the requirements of GOST 199032015.

Depending on the initial volume of the tank (40 m3), its overall dimensions were determined: the diameter was 2740 (mm), the length was 7600 (mm), the height was 3200 (mm). Depending on the load (overpressure) and the density of the stored liquid, the wall thickness of the tank body was determined to be 4 (mm).

Depending on the pressure acting in the center of the bottom, a strength and stability test was carried out, and the thickness of the bottom wall was selected. The next stage of design was the calculation and design of the supporting stiffening ring, which consists of a stiffening ring and a triangular diaphragm. Stiffness ring is made of unequal-beam angle, and triangular diaphragm rods are made of equal-beam rolling angle. The stiffness support ring was also tested for strength and stability by calculations.
