Introduction

The performance and reliability of the vehicle is highly dependent on the characteristics of the gearbox.

In this course design, the purpose, types, designs and operation of the three-shaft gearbox are considered.

Three-shaft transmissions are used on cars with a classic layout, as well as on buses and trucks.

The feasibility of calculating a three-shaft gearbox is as follows: in direct transmission, the efficiency of a three-shaft gearbox is more than two-shaft, and the gearbox works less noisily. In other gears, in addition to the reverse gear, two pairs of gears are engaged in the three-shaft gearbox, which somewhat reduces the efficiency of the gearbox, but allows you to have a large gear ratio in the first gear.

Thus, the purpose of this course project is to calculate a three-shaft gearbox using the example of a VAZ2107 passenger car in accordance with existing regulatory documents in the field of design and calculation of car transmissions.

1 gearbox

1.1 Gearbox purpose and requirements

A gearbox is a transmission mechanism that changes the ratio between the speeds of rotation of the engine crankshaft and driving wheels when the car is moving.

The gearbox serves to change the torque on the driving wheels of the car, to long-term disconnection of the engine and transmission and to obtain reverse travel.

The torque on the driving wheels must be changed in accordance with the road conditions in order to ensure the optimal speed and cross-country ability of the car, as well as for the most economical operation of the engine.

The engine and transmission must be disconnected for a long time during engine idling.

The reverse running of the car is required to perform certain maneuvers by the car.

Change of torque on driving wheels and vehicle speed is performed by increasing or decreasing gear ratio of gearbox, which is ratio of rotation speed of driving shaft to rotation speed of driven shaft.

Conclusion

According to the task, the check calculation of the VAZ2107 checkpoint for the first transmission was carried out. Gear teeth were checked for bending stresses and contact stresses .

In the second part, the output shaft was calculated and the durability of its bearings was checked.

In the last section, the synchronizer was calculated when switching from the first gear to the second gear.

All calculated parameters were included in the permissible ones, therefore, the VAZ 2107 checkpoint meets all the requirements presented to it.

In the course of the work, the goal was achieved, namely, the knowledge gained and the skills in the design and calculation of the gearbox were acquired.
