Introduction

Air conditioning - creation and automatic maintenance in the room of the specified parameters of the air environment in terms of temperature, humidity, purity, gas composition, noise level and speed, most favorable for the technological process or work and rest of a person.

When air is conditioned, it is subjected to heat-moisture treatment.

On hot summer days, outside air has a high temperature and high humidity. Before entering the room, such air must be cooled and sometimes drained. In winter, outdoor air has a low temperature and low humidity, so before being supplied to the room, it must be heated and moistened.

Air is subjected to heat-moisture treatment in installations called air conditioners. Air conditioning units have special devices for certain types of treatment. Air is heated usually in water heaters, where it receives heat from the finned surfaces of the tubes through which the coolant flows. Air is cooled in surface or contact air coolers. In surface air coolers, air gives heat to the surfaces of tubes through which cold water or other coolant is passed. If these surfaces have a temperature below the dew point, then moisture from the air falls on them, and the latter is not only cooled, but also drained. The surfaces of the air cooler or air heater tubes are in some cases irrigated with water, as the air exchanges heat more intensively with the wetted surface. In addition, when irrigated with water, air can be dried or moistened along with heating or cooling. In contact coolers, air is cooled by direct contact with water. Most often, air passes through the rain space of the irrigation chamber, in which cooled water is sprayed with nozzles.
