Technology for producing isopropylbenzene

Description

The purpose of this coursework is to obtain general information about the process, methods of production, and use. An important objective is also to examine the basic process flow diagram for isopropylbenzene production. The calculation section includes the coursework assignment, the material and heat balance of the isopropylbenzene production process, and also includes calculations for the main alkylator apparatus.

 

The ecological section is based on a description of the main wastes generated during isopropylbenzene production by alkylation of benzene with propylene and methods for their efficient processing (or disposal, purification) into more useful and widely used materials.

 

This coursework examined the process of isopropylbenzene production by sulfuric acid alkylation of benzene with a propane-propylene fraction. The physicochemical principles of the isopropylbenzene production process were described. A description of the isopropylbenzene production process was provided. A process flow diagram of the isopropylbenzene production process was presented. The material and heat balances of the sulfuric acid alkylation unit for benzene with a propane-propylene fraction were calculated. The main apparatus of the isopropylbenzene production process is calculated; the harmful substances released during the isopropylbenzene production process are described.
