On this page you can easily download the drawings of the worm gear in the compass. As you know, the worm gear is designed to convert the torque and angular speed of the engine, using a worm gear, because of which it got its name. One or more planetary gears may be present in the gear box. Currently, single-stage worm gears are most widely used. The worm with respect to the wheel may be above or below the wheel. The lateral arrangement of the wheel is less common.
In modern design, worm gear motors are very popular - this is a mechanism containing an electric motor and a worm gear in one case. It has many advantages: low noise during work, compactness, a wonderful property of self-braking. The shafts are located at right angles, which is often very useful, since it is not always possible to accommodate the reduction motor coaxially to the drive shaft.
