Description
A montejus is a horizontal or vertical apparatus with elliptical or conical bottoms, designed for receiving, storing, and dispensing liquid media, and for conducting various technological processes in the chemical, petrochemical, and other industries.
The objective of this work is to design a horizontal steel montejus for storing toluene and then transporting it from the apparatus using compressed air.
Apparatus Design
The horizontal montejus is a set of welded assemblies, the main components of which are: body 1, manhole cover 2, and pressure pipe 3.
Body 1 consists of a cylindrical shell, to whose ends the bottoms are welded. The shell is equipped with a nozzle B for supplying compressed air to the montejus, a hatch A with a hermetically sealed lid 2, a nozzle B for inserting and attaching a compression pipe 3 into the apparatus, and a toluene supply nozzle G, all located in the upper part of housing 1. At the bottom of housing 1, a nozzle G is located in the shell for draining any remaining toluene from the apparatus. The apparatus is mounted on two saddle supports welded to the shell.
Crushing pipe 3 has two flanges. One is connected to the flange of the nozzle located in the upper part of housing 1, and the other is connected to the compression pipe by nozzle D, the toluene outlet. The hatch cover is equipped with two handles.
Principle of operation of the apparatus.
The montejus is filled with toluene through port G. Air is pumped into the apparatus through port B, causing the pressure in the apparatus outside the pressure transfer pipe 3 to be greater than in the pipe connected to the atmosphere. Once the montejus is empty, the air supply is stopped. The pressure in apparatus P equalizes with atmospheric pressure, and it is refilled with toluene.
