Ruler for measuring wheel toe

The ruler for measuring the toe of the wheels allows you to evaluate the correctness of the installation of toe angles during the operation of the car and during its maintenance. The line is used at service stations, in car services and by owners of individual vehicles.

The ruler is made in the form of a tube 1, at one end of which a rod with risks 6 is attached, and at the other end a sleeve 3 is installed, through which the screw 4 passes. At the outer ends of the rod and screw, 5 tips are screwed.

The principle of operation of the ruler: the screw extends and rests against the end of the brake drum in front. The ruler is parallel to the surface on which the machine is located. From the opposite end of the ruler, the rod extends and rests the tips on the end of the brake drum of the second wheel. Next, the ruler is fixed with a screw (lamb) 8 on the side of the rod and a locknut 7 on the side of the retractable screw. 

After that, the distance between the ends of the brake drums at the rear is measured. The distance between the ends of the brake drums in the horizontal plane at the rear should be greater than at the front by 3 ... 5 mm.
