General characteristics of the machine

1.1. Purpose of the machine.

The machine is designed for turning from bar material of a series of identical parts with a diameter of up to 25 mm and a length of up to 150 mm from steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals and other structural materials.

On the machine it is possible to make draft and fair grinding, shaped grinding, drilling, chamfering, coredrilling, expansion, cutting of faces, pro-cutting of flutes, cutting of a carving, a nakatka rifly and cutting. The machine is designed for use in small-scale and mass production.

1.2. Movements in the machine.

Cutting motion - rotation of the spindle with the rod. Feed motions - rectilinear. Translational movement of the transverse caliper in radial direction and rectilinear translational movement of the revolver caliper along the spindle axis. Auxiliary movements - quick retraction of the turret in the longitudinal direction; manual movements of transverse and revolver calipers; turning the turret at the end of the turret retraction; rotation of central shaft of command unit, supply and clamping of rod material.

1.3. The main components of the machine.

The main components of the machine are shown in general form. These include:

1 - frame;

2 - speed box;

3 - feed box;

4 shows a mechanism for feeding and clamping material;

5 shows a guide pipe with a strut;

6 - spindle head;

7 - transverse caliper;

8 - apron of transverse caliper;

9 - apron of revolver caliper;

10 - turret caliper ;

11 - command unit;

12 - cooling and lubrication system.

The purpose of each of the units can be seen either from the name of the unit itself or from the principle of operation of the machine (see item 1.4).

1.4. Principle of machine operation.

The front end of the rod is inserted into the spindle hole and fixed in the collet cartridge so that a length of rod, sufficient for the production of a given part, comes out of the cartridge. At the end of processing of the next part, a special mechanism releases the collet chuck and supplies the rod forward to the required length until stop, after which it again secures the rod in the spindle of the machine.

All the cutting tool necessary for this operation is fixed in the six-position turret head and two cutters of the transverse caliper. Tool for machining holes, thread cutting and longitudinal turning is installed in turret head. Undercut, groove, shaped and other cutters are fixed in the front cutter holder of the transverse support, and a cutting cutter is usually installed in the rear cutter holder.

After each transition, the turret is quickly retracted, and the turret is automatically installed in a new position.

1.5. Controls

13 - input switch; 14 - handle for manual movement of the transverse caliper; 15 is a square for setting the handle for adjusting the mechanical feed and clamping of the bar material; 16 - spindle reverse button; 17 - button for actuation of the drive of quick movements of the revolver caliper; 18 - machine start button; 19 - local lighting on and off button; 20 - machine stop button; 21 - reversal button of transverse and revolver calipers supply; 22 is a button for activating the bar material feeding and clamping mechanism; 23 - handle for switching on and off of transverse caliper supply; 24 - handwheel, as well as turning on and off the supply of the revolver caliper together with the revolver head.
