Introduction

The advancements of technical mechanics make it possible not only to improve the design of machines and mechanisms, but also to improve production processes. Today, many enterprises widely use machine machines, automatic flow lines, which, without direct human participation, provide the production of finished products, from the processing of raw materials to the packaging of finished products.

The field of application of the laws of mechanics for solving specific technical problems is very extensive. Our era of scientific and technological progress confirms with particular vigour the invisibility of the practical application of this science.

Technical mechanics is the science of the general laws of mechanical movement and their application in modern technology. Technical mechanics consists of two parts: theoretical and applied. The first part is devoted to the study of the theoretical foundations of mechanical movement, the second - the use of the positions of theoretical mechanics for practical purposes: designing mechanisms, calculating parts of machines, building structures and structures.

Theoretical mechanics is usually divided into three closely related sections: static, kinematics and dynamics. The problems of theoretical mechanics include determining the conditions under which the equilibrium conditions of bodies are observed. This section of mechanics is called static. The study of the motion of bodies based on the laws of geometry is carried out by a section of mechanics called kinematics. The section of mechanics that studies the motion of bodies and considers the causes that caused it is called dynamics. Static, kinematics and dynamics cover all issues related to the mechanical movement of bodies, and allow you to solve numerous practical problems.

Design Brief and Operating Principle of Belt Conveyor

A system of parts for transmission (converting the movement of some links into other ones) is called a mechanism.

A machine is a mechanism designed to convert the energy of materials and information in order to replace or facilitate the physical and mental work of a person.

Types and classification of conveyors .

Conveyor (from the English convey "transfer") is a continuous transport machine designed to move bulk, lump or piece cargoes.

An important characteristic of the operation of the conveyor is its continuity. This is true when the conveyor is called a means for transporting goods over short distances, and when the conveyor is an in-line production system based on a moving object for assembly. This system turned the process of assembling complex products, which previously required high qualifications from the collector, into routine, monotonous, low-skilled labor, significantly increasing its productivity. The arrangement of workers or machines on the conveyor assembly line is carried out taking into account the technology and sequence of assembly or processing of parts in order to achieve an effective division of labor.

Depending on the direction of movement of objects, conveyors are divided into: horizontal, vertical, inclined.

Depending on the type of cargo: bulk, piece.

Depending on the functions performed: transportation, assembly, sorting.

Depending on the arrangement of the conveyor itself or parts: floor, suspended.

Depending on the traction organ: tape, chain, rope, without a traction organ: gravitational, inertial, screw.

Conclusion

In this course design, a cylindrical single-stage reduction gear was designed, which is part of the operating mechanism of the belt conveyor drive.

The calculations determined: the kinematic scheme of the machine unit, the engine was chosen, the selection of gearing materials, determine the permissible stresses, shaft loads, bearing check calculation, main geometric gears, check calculations.
